It’s sad to see but Cyprus must always take care of its own people and own issues first before handing out applications to asylum seekers.
The island is small enough with all the issues going on around us alone (Israel/Iran and ongoing genocide in Palestine), the last thing we should be doing is accepting more refugees with our resource capacity and budgets..

The way I understand this: Suspends means that asylum seekers will remain asylum seekers for longer time. Therefor they will be stuck in a Cyprus. Instead of processing their application and move on tonother EU countries. It could work two ways. 1 way: they avoid Cyprus 2. They come to Cyprus to stay longer. Double edged sword
