Carney has said the same, hasn’t he? I do believe that now means that literally everyone who has the slightest chance in hell of becoming the next PM will tear down Trudeau’s greatest legacy achievement.

Isn’t that the direction they’re all going to go with their leadership bid? Carney was saying that it’s industry that needs pollution curbed and making Canadians pay or change their behaviour in a short amount of time is the wrong approach?  Plus it eliminates a point of contention between them and the Conservatives.  Still not going to win them an election.

  3. Industry will just pass it down to the consumer with price increases anyways.
Liberals need to regroup. Rethink all their policies. You Fkd the country over enuf. Step aside.

Wait, is everyone saying “Axe the Tax” now? Woh oh PP won’t like that!

That’s crazy amounts of backpedaling considering how many times she said in the HOC citizens were being helped by it.

Ah yes, the typical pre election tactics to try and win votes. You had 9 years, no thank you.

Awesome, just like temporary fuel tax holidays….there’s no possible way the O&G corporations will just raise their prices to claim it for themselves.

These campaign promises, along with RTO mandates for jobs that can be done at home, and the recent cancellation of federal EV rebates prove this country has all but officially given up on the climate. Sad, dark days ahead.

  8. Good lord, Freeland? Does the LPC really want to launch the party further into the depths of hell?

  9. This will probably be a big part of every candidate’s pitch. It’s the best way to distance and differentiate themselves from Trudeau and his legacy.

Where’s the outrage guys? Where’s the “akshooally it’s a murkat sawlooshun!”

Looks like people are starting to face reality. Too bad it had to come with a tax that will be eaten up by profits rather than a deflation back to pricing without the tax.

I guess Freeland is a right wing climate denier according to this sub over the last 2 years.

  12. She is in full fraud mode now … will say and do anything to try and win the top spot. Not much different than the lies she has spewed over the last 8 years. Feeling the vibe yet??

Poor Justin. Imagine all his policies being torn down by the woman he tried to destroy.

Freeland has no legit experience being in finance minister. She has a Bachelors in Russian studies and a master in Slavic studies, while Carney been an actual banker. Idk why Trudeau chose her over Carney in the first place. Freeland only got it due to diversity equity and Inclusion agendas plus giving handy sandys going up the political ladder.

It costs $35,000 to enter a bid to be PM. If she wanted to waste money, she could’ve just spent it playing Keno.

These mutts are never coming back to power, can’t figure that out for some reason

She will say anything to get elected. She supported the carbon tax 100% since its inception. Why would we believe her now?

  18. Deadly-Unicorn on

What did Freeland improve in 9 years? If you can’t think of anything, it would be insane to support her. She wasn’t PM of course but she was second in command.

  19. The consumer carbon tax? So remove the rebates and continue to charge companies, which pass it down to consumers?
