    Always surprised that conventional assumption is that Taiwan is just the main island.

    West Taiwan probably real salty that it’s not just one island that Taiwan owns.

    Kinmen Island is basically Taiwan’s Crimea. If China wants to find out how the West will respond to its aggression, they will likely take Kinmen Island first before any further moves, it’s only 2 miles off Chinese coast after all.

    Does America have bases there? Imagine if they added a huge base at the closest one, with nukes.
