Google Lens works fine for translating this.

Tldr: You need to pay 235,50 €. Better fast, because this is already the second warning and it was due one week after you received that letter.

You didn´t pay a fine that was 228,50 bucks originally. Now they are charging you an extra 7 bucks (=235,50 total). Seems like you were caught speeding.

Edit: 228,50 is usually the fine you get when you go 31-40 km/h over the speed limit. You were caught MASSIVELY speeding.

You got a fine and didn’t pay it off in time. This is (probably) your first „Mahnung“
They are asking you to send them the required amount to pay the fine. If you continue to ignore it they will probably come after you with a lawyer.

Seriously, this seems to be a big fine. Were you speeding?

    edit: spelling

  4. tuhh_bangING on

This seems to be at least the second letter because it refers to a letter sent before. It doesn’t state much beside that you should pay the fine. Do you have the other letter?

You have an outstanding traffic ticket. This is the reminder for you to pay the outstanding amount + EUR 7 reminder fee within one week of receiving this. The due date for the reminder has already significantly passed.

Unfortunately, you have not yet fulfilled your payment obligations arising from the above-mentioned fine notice. You are therefore requested toamount owed in the amount ofEUR 235.50to the specified account of the Central Fines Office within one week of receipt of this reminder. The amount owed is made up as follows.money bull including fees and expensesreminder fees incurred so farpayments madeamount owed228.50 EUREUR 7.00EUREUR 235.50If you have already paid the entire outstanding amount, please consider this reminder irrelevant. If you fail to meet the payment deadline, the Central Fines Office will be forced to collect the entire amount owed without further notice. The collection will probably cause you great inconvenience (e.g. attachment of wages, salary or other claims, attachment of movable property). It will also cause you considerable costs. If the collection is unsuccessful, the Central Fines Office will obtain an order for compulsory detention from the responsible district court if a fine was imposed in the notice.Best regardsCentral fine officeIf you have any questions, please contact us as follows:Information service center: (09942) 952-580 (Mon to Fri from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.)faxE-mail:Internet address:(09942) 952-241zbs.viechtach@polizei.bayern.dewww.polizei.bayern.de/verwaltungsamt/Please forward your payments, quoting the reference number D-1790-027415-24/5, to:Please direct your payment under indication of the file reference to:Please send your payments with reference to:Please direct your payments under the reference to:International/international/internationalBayerische Landesbank Girozentrale MunichBIC BYLADEMMfor our account at / for account with/for our account atSparkasse Regen-ViechtachIBAN DE25 7415 1450 0240 0004 14Account holder: Central Fines Office ViechtachThe payment has to be remitted exempt from charges for the recipient.Disbursements are made duty-free and at no cost to the payee. I would contact the rental car company as they would have received the initial fine and then forwarded you a notice. At least this is what happened to me in the past.

They reference a letter about a traffic fine that you should have received earlier.

Since you have not paid yet, they want the original 228,50 EUR + 7,00 EUR late fees, payable by wire transfer to the IBAN stated below. Reference the Aktenzeichen D-1790 […] in your wire transfer.

you have not paid the aforementioned fine (on another latter? Can’t see any aforementioned reason on that paper). and that’s why you’re being prompted to pay the fine (235.5€) within a week (!) after receiving this letter.

If you already paid you don’t need to take further actions.

If you fail to pay within the week after receiving that letter, they will garnishment the amount of your wage (will be hard with you living in the US I imagine).

  10. Pay up bro… our economy is shrinking – we need the Dollares….🙌

  11. trev100100 on

Damn dude. Can we see the other page where it shows how fast you were going?

  12. Pay that or it will turn into an arrest warrant in any state of the Schengen Area (basically Europe + Nordics).

If you plan on never coming here again, ignore it.

You might want to try Google Lens. I know it can translate this because I just used your image file with it.

I wonder though why German police thinks it’s a great idea to send a German letter to someone who is probably not fluent in German with only minimal english explanation what tf is going on.

  14. NetterBeatle on

if you are not going to visit germany anymore in your lifetime, you don’t have to pay the fine. Otherwise I would pay.

  15. Thank you everyone! I’ll get on paying it rn! The speeding was definitely worth it lol. Beautiful highways and scenery!

  16. BubatzAhoi on

They already sent you a fine and you didnt pay so now its this letter. You have one week to pay otherwise the police will look for you and you have to pay much much more.

  17. SarahWagenfuerst on

Usually Europcar would send you the first letter via email. Seems like that didn’t happen… Anyhow you gotta pay up i guess, you could ask europcar or the police for a copy of the first letter to get a nice photo and the details out of it

  18. Fine-Craft3393 on

At least you got a letter… i got minor speeding tickets in France per Hertz informing me and never received a letter and the link in the email they sent me doesn’t even work.
