No human being should live like this over such an insignificant mistake in the great scheme of life. I hope TOP finds the peace he desires and maybe we will see him return with music at one point as well.

I still can’t believe that out of all the awful shit a lot of the actors on that show have done, T.O.P is the only one facing criticism from the media

Interesting that he decided to use a different rap style. In a way it makes sense since the character was a failed artist.

This was a really thoughtful interview. I’m not too familiar with him or BB in general apart from the major news stories, but it seems like he’s been through a lot and it took a toll at some point. He sounds very much matured. I wonder if this is the whole interview? It’s very short. Would actually love a thorough interview. His thoughts mirror those I’ve read about RM. Getting to the top is hard. But the pressure of staying there seems too daunting. I can’t imagine.

Hope those awful media outlets can finally leave him alone, stop disrupting not only his private life, but his professional life as well.
He just wants to be out of the public eye, after the treatment he received, and all we can do is respect that and wish him all the best.
With all this time in the studio though, I am expecting a solo album before long, even if he chooses to do limited promo for it.

Heartbreaking to read what he’s been through, no one deserves to be treated so terribly, hate trains are just too damn common in kpop, I really hope he does find peace. I would love to hear his voice again, I hope he does share his music with us soon.

Weed is so weirdly villainized in Korea. Something that outside of Asia is pretty normal. The fact that someone like TOP who is a genuinely nice dude, has had to endure so much shame over it is insane. He already had mental health issues and depression BEFORE all of that.
Korea needs to apologise to him, tbh.

This is a heartbreaking short interview 🙁 I hope T.O.P. can find peace moving forward and continue to do what he wants to do (music, acting, whatever that looks like) and that he will be left alone by the Korean media who continues to hound him, and for what? Some weed? While other Squid Game cast members have actually serious histories and are embraced…the hypocrisy will never cease to piss me off. Anyway. I truly wish him the best!

It’s really poignant that the director reached out to HIM. I also have seen kmedia criticize his performance as bad bc it’s annoying but it really shows their lack of critical thinking as it was so obvious that he was doing it all on purpose. Like it or dislike it you have to appreciate his intention here to do something so bold after his frankly awful treatment.
