Americans have abandoned that view of the relationship in large enough numbers that we, and all governments across Canada, must accept that this is how they think of us.
This is what they want. This is what they voted for. They do not care that we followed them when they invoked article 5. They do not care that we supported them and allowed planes to land in Canada after 9/11. They do not care that we sell them commodities at a discount. They. Do. Not. Care.
