The NDP is now seen as “the party who cried wolf”.

I’m from Windsor, a core voting base has been the rough-around-the-edges blue collar union worker. Making them feel like a vote for the NDP is a vote for the liberal party was a very, very bad strategy.

I knew the NDP was in trouble when Jagmeet saw zero issue in floating the “let’s have taxpayers – many of whom are renters – subsidize the mortgage payments of property owners” idea as a way of reducing housing costs.

It was incredibly obtuse and poorly thought out, but more importantly it signalled his lack of political instincts and depth of vision.

I’m frankly astonished his supporters have been as patient as they’ve been. When he refused to condemn Talwinder Singh Parmar (the architect of the Air India Bombing – the largest terror attack on our soil) until the NDP I thought his days were already numbered. I was clearly mistaken.

If I were an NDP supporter I’d be much more troubled that he has ceded the inside track on housing affordability to Poilievre. Wasn’t this supposed to be a bread and butter NDP issue? It’s astonishing.

I feel much the same. From a beliefs perspective, I should probably be voting NDP and yet there is no way in hell I will be.

    What a flop.
