SS: Germany has selected the Israeli-made PULS rocket artillery systems from Elbit Systems, in partnership with French-German contractor KNDS, for an initial procurement worth €65 million.

This decision came after Elbit’s bid outperformed a competing US-German proposal from Lockheed Martin and Rheinmetall, which lacked a usable prototype.

The choice aligns with Germany’s broader defense procurement strategy and follows similar acquisitions by the Dutch and Danish armies, enhancing interoperability within NATO.

While US approval is needed to use state-made munitions in the Israeli systems, it is expected to be granted, reflecting close US-German defense cooperation.

This procurement addresses increased demand for artillery systems in Europe following donations to Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion.

More European countries are turning to Israel for advanced military equipment. Germany has recently bought Trophy systems for tanks, Arrow ballistic missile defense systems, and is considering BlueWhale drone submarines.

Other purchases include David’s Sling defensive missiles for Finland, rocket launchers for Greece, and Barak MX air defense systems for Slovakia. Many more deals are in progress.
