Aserbaidschans Wut über Flugzeugabsturz wächst und die Spaltung mit Russland vertieft sich

SS: Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, is continuing to press Russia for accountability regarding the Dec. 25th crash of the passenger airplane that killed 38 people. Despite previous positive relations between the two countries, this crash is too significant for Azerbaijan to ignore. Azerbaijan‘s demand for accountability is happening amongst Russia’s war in Ukraine where Russia’s focus there has impacted its ability to maintain influence in other parts of the former Soviet Union and Syria. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan‘s successful war against Armenia and oil profits have given the country more confidence in not being subservient to Russia.
