Ich kenne mich mit dem Pfand-System nicht so gut aus und der Pfand-Automat bei Kaufland hat ihn gerade wieder eingeführt. Kann mir jemand sagen, was das Problem sein könnte?

Kaufland doesn’t sell it or you just need to shove it in again. Sometimes it rejects things for no reason.

  2. You can hand it in at the customer service desk, usually by the entrance.

Some machines only accept single use bottles, some only multi use.

I can’t tell if this bottle is plastic or glass. If it’s glass, try one of those machines that accept crates.

Purchased at Düsseldorf, the receipt clearly said I paid .25 for pfand. The pfand machine accepted all my other bottles so it was working. Is there like a specific type of machines that accepts them?

They often reject bottles they don’t sell as a product in store. Maybe the help desk would take it, or take it back to the store you brought it from. Tbh i usually leave it next to the machine and accept the 25 cent loss and let someone else find a way to claim the money.

  6. Shove it back at it. try to put the barcode up… sometimes these imported DLG bottels gets thrown back out again…

Ramune is japanese import, I don’t really know why this bottle was marked as Pfand. If you paid Pfand you can probably give it back where you bought it.

  8. Why does a glass bottle have an einwegpfand sticker?! Usually single use return gets crushed, I suspect that despite the single use return sticker the machine maybe recognized it’s glass?

What was displayed on the little screen of the return machine?

Put the bottle in so that the deposit mark looks up (so that the scanner can also see the mark)!! The shape of the bottle is unusual, but because of the deposit sticker it should actually be accepted in the machine

Every store that sells Einweg Plastik (single-use plastic) bottles has to take in every other single-use plastic bottle, whether they have it in store or not.

  11. Take it out, put some more standard bottles in, meanwhile you rotate this bottle in your free hand for a couple of rounds and put it back in. If in doubt, recite a short sermon for the Machine God and it will go through just easily.

Jokes aside: Any machine that takes 25 cent-Pfand should take it, but sometimes the machines have a hiccup. Trying it again after some other bottles, preferably with the Pfand-label up can make the machine take it.

  12. Looks fine to me. Sometimes those machines reject bottles that are perfectly fine. I just turn the bottle a little and try again and again.

  13. Once I needed to push the bottle inside the machine like 5 times before it was accepted. Usually it helps placing the barcode face up so that machine can read it directly

There are three types of Einwegpfand: Plastic bottles (most common), metal cans (less common) and glass (rather uncommon). Every store is only obliged to take the Einwegpfand of the type they sell themselves. So if e.g. Aldi does not sell Einwegpfand of the glass type, they do not have to take this bottle in.

Pfand bottles have the value printed on them. Normally €0,25. This bottle is just a normal recyclable.

every sellingpoint has to have a return posibilit for sold items, BUT are only obligated to do so if the SELL the product by themself. Ramune-bottles are very special, try to find where you bought it, if not, place it next to a trash bin in public, someone will take it and you did a good deed by helping someone through hard times by donating it.

    several possible reasons

    random machine error, try again

    persisting machine error, ask salesperson

or brand not sold at this store thus not accepted

  19. You should try to give it back at lidl if kaufland doesn’t take it. I work at rewe and a guy tried to give this bottles and machine gave it back to him. Our man from Gertänkemarkt said he should try at lidl.
