      According to Kazakhstan’s Bureau of National Statistics, in 2023, 70% of Almaty’s population consisted of Kazakhs, and only 15% were Russian. The same is true for Astana, where, in 2020, 79% of the population was Kazakh, and only 13% Russian.

      So, bad map.

      too late. China wont let Russia use “Russian minority” card again. Especially in Central Asia

      This looks like Kazakhstan will be invaded by Russia if not politically subjugated.

      Apparently there are no areas of the country that have a Korean majority or plurality.

      why is there random ethnic groups who’s countries aren’t anywhere near Kazakhstan

      Your map sweeps much of the detail away. Use Bureau of National Statistics data, it should provide you with clear administrative division data.

      According to the last census, Kazakhs are majority everywhere but Russian-majority North, and one district near Shymkent where there is an Uzbek majority. Your map is interesting in that it shows pockets of different ethnicities, but the map is misleading to say that it’s an ethnic map

      This map looks like it might have been accurate in the 1990s, but no longer today

      I live in Almaty. I have met local russians, koreans, germans, ukrainians, belarusians, jews, dungan, uzbeks, kyrgyz, chinese, indians, uyghurs. 
      But I have never met any poles in my entire life in Kazakhstan.

      kazakhstan has some of the coolest linguistic diversity in the world, its a shame so much of that history is quite brutal and horrible however

      Désert places should be marked as unpopulated, this maps makes believe that the population is evenly distributed whereas it’s concentrated in actually few areas of the country
