It’s like very cheap wine. Suitable for teenagers and alcoholics. I’ve not seen it in years.
Can’t you read the year and manufacturer?
I don’t know if it’s exactly vintage, but it’s an older one.
I don’t think it’s vintage or worth anything. It’s cherry wine. It’s good with rice pudding.
Looks like a speciality wine. Can only find bottles that look similar from the same brand 150kr-200kr. So might be some years old. Cherry wine is quite common here tho and they aren’t typically expensive.
My mom had hundreds of those little brass glasses. Only when I was only did I know why
That brings back memories. My grandparents used to serve this at Christmas in the 80s / early 90s and I always got the little glass.
That is cherry wine. Old Danish people always have at least one open bottle back from the 25th anniversary when their spouse were still around.
Ooh nice!
That one should be enjoyed on a bench somewhere in public.
Where can I get cherry wine these days? Aldi used to sell it, but they are all closed down.
Shrinkflation! 😜
Flash backs to when my mom and I visited my grandfather at his retirement home. They always/often shared a glass of this cherry wine and I got the small metal/brass glass
Aw, it’s the one with the little cup. The memories, and lack thereof…
Its because of a old hedvin afgift (tax on higher %) thats why the made less strong to sell it cheaper. I dont Think it ages Well. And its like 5buck in netto
As a child in the 80s this was served at my Grandparents House when we got dessert. I will be in my cold cold grave, before I will let my sister get the little glass from the bottle. That is MINE! My preciousssss.
Something similar is still produced. It’s better than it’s rumor
Liquids with more that 15% alc. is considered strong alchohol, while liquids with less than 15% is considered mixed drinks, and therefore has a different taxation in Denmark.
Also drinks with less than 15% was allowed being sold to people below 18, hence a larger audience. This has later been changed though.
Edit: I think the 15% limit was made law in 2005.
Added bonus – the little glass fits perfectly into the hand of a Playmobil figure
How does it taste? You liked it?
🤢
Rue.
It is guesswork but it looks like there is written something along the lines of “1*990” on the white tax seal. Perhaps the year it was bottled?
I found an old article from [Fyens Stiftstidende](https://fyens.dk/erhverv/gammel-vin-paa-gamle-flasker) that says that Kirsberry was introduced in the mid-70s as at competitor to Kijafa, another brand of Danish cherry wine.
Had quite a collection of the litteratur glas as a kid.
Pretty popular drink back in the day, at least in my family
