Is it just me or was that a _lot_ of words spent with no actual detail on what the neighborhood watch has done to reduce crime? The only concrete example was buying one woman better window locks.
Did they form a quasi-satanic sect and kill all the ne’er-do-wells?
Cornetto?
Sounds like a great idea. Brings the community together, and helps with crime Just don’t go full Hot Fuzz. We had a local WhatsApp group start when a couple of burglaries happened close by, but that seems to have fizzled out.
Just another nonsense story in the mainstream.. thanks for that hullicination of words GPT…
So there’s still two-thirds of crime happening. I’d be interested to know what crimes they stopped and what crimes are not stopped
My theory here would be that low down crimes that either the police probably wouldn’t really bother dealing with or even things that aren’t crimes, like a stranger acting suspiciously outside their house, get put into this Facebook group and don’t get officially reported which makes it into crime figures.
It’s still good if the people feel safer and women feel they can walk about at night etc, and if it filters shite it saves the police wasting time, but it’s not like they’re deploying Batman’s across the city
