      2000s nostalgia obviously means something very different in Russia compared to where Im from..

      Due to ongoing labor force shortages, which in turn are caused by the said labor force fertilizing sunflower fields in Ukraine, Putin relaxed migration laws to attract additional workers, particularly from Asian post-soviet republics. This does not sit all that well with the russian neo-nazis.

      Being a russian neonazi is a bit schizophrenic, given how nazis consider slavs overall.

      For those of you who know nothing about Russian politics, Putin is famous in Russia for arresting a lot of far right figures back in the 2000s and 2010s.

      That side of the political spectrum was more or less extinct until Russia was cut off from swift. The idea with this was to target Russian oligarchs (who the average Russian hates by the way) but the rich always find a way to move their money. The struggling artist in Saint Petersburg who can no longer sell his work abroad on the other hand is getting more and more resentful by the day. This is why there’s been a resurgence in the far right and far left in Russia.

      This is not a good thing for anyone.

      I don’t see a clear trend nor statistics somparison here. That might be a rather nothingburger, especially since neo-nazi aren’t reallt something current government is willind to grow.
