  1. It’s just weird. We have basically two sides, one with all the land, and one with only water.

But yeah, let’s cut through Asia, lol.

For those wondering this is the Eckert III projection with the prime meridian centered in Brazil

All the odd-numbered Eckerts have equally spaced meridians.

All the even-numbered Eckerts are area-preserving, spacing out the meridians as needed.

So 1 and 2 look alike but the latter is area preserving

3 and 4 look alike etc

  3. Brazilians must have incredible sight to be able to read anything on that map

  4. The Brazilian economy must be in a really bad shape, they can’t even afford more pixels than this.

As an Aussie I love this. Cutting Perth off from the rear of the rest of the country matches the Federal Governments agenda perfectly (especially whilst still claiming all the cash)

Any map that doesn’t split in the Atlantic or the Pacific is objectively bad.

  7. They could even bother to get the USA names correctly. It’s Estados Unidos da América.

Honest im pretty fond of map with the Americas in the center, it captures the scale of Asia and the oceans

I don’t mind it, but do have a problem with it cutting Australia in twain.

  10. Created by a governmental institution in Brazil. Not used by any Brazilians.
