Bittinger is another great space artist on par with Bonestell for that era.
Also, one of my fav books this year is – Under Alien Skies: A Sightseer’s Guide to the Universe by Philip Plait, which gives the same experience of knowing what skies and things look like when you are a space tourist in those worlds.

It is so weird that prior to satellite pictures, there were almost never illustrations of Earth from space that had clouds. It just wasn’t an obvious feature of the planet’s outermost surface.
The shadows indicate the Sun is behind the viewer, so the fully lighted “blue marble” is accurate.

Very pretty! Of course, Jim Lovell taught us forevermore, the whole Earth fits behind your thumb 🙂
