    Submission statement:

*Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni and Jamey Heath of misconduct on the set of “It Ends With Us,” leading to a crisis public relations campaign. The campaign, orchestrated by Melissa Nathan, aimed to damage Lively’s reputation while protecting Baldoni and Heath. The effort resulted in a significant reputational hit for Lively, with negative media coverage and online commentary skyrocketing after the film’s release.*

Per the article. What scum bags. “She claimed Mr. Baldoni had improvised unwanted kissing and discussed his sex life, including encounters in which he said he may not have received consent. Mr. Heath had shown her a video of his wife naked, she said, and he had watched Ms. Lively in her trailer when she was topless and having body makeup removed, despite her asking him to look away. She said that both men repeatedly entered her makeup trailer uninvited while she was undressed, including when she was breastfeeding.”

I’m waiting to see the evidences play out since the fat shaming turned out to be a huge distortion. It definitely doesn’t sound good where it stands now.

This guy sucks. I also think Blake lively sucks. Everything about this movie and the making of it is a fucking disaster

I really want to like Justin Baldoni so it would suck if this shit was true

Blake Lively has way more fame and power than Justin so I find it hard to believe he somehow strong armed her during the making of this film and this isn’t just another one of her spoiled privileged mean girl moments

Lively and Reynolds are industry heavyweights with a lot of power and money. Until proven in court, no one should be labelled as a criminal.

Really interesting how well this worked.

Really makes you think what we’re seeing now that has distorted our perception of something.

I will say, it seems like people have become savvy to a lot of PR and publicist gimmicks. but this was recent, totally worked, and 100% changed the perception of her.

Also, these dudes are fucking losers. Baldoni’s success is basically “a billionaire at my church wanted to get into movies so we started a podcast”. You could argue semantics about her experience and their intent. But for dudes who literally have created an identity around “being better men to women”, you shouldn’t even be giving off that vibe that something is up.

Definitely thinks she has a winning settlement here. If she’s actually shitty or not is irrelevant, he tried to “bury her”.

    He responded:

Baldoni’s legal team pushed back on Lively’s claims. “It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives, as yet another desperate attempt to ‘fix’ her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film; interviews and press activities that were observed publicly, in real time and unedited, which allowed for the internet to generate their own views and opinions,” Freedman’s statement to Variety about the complaint reads.

“These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media,” Freedman continues. “Wayfarer Studios made the decision to proactively hire a crisis manager prior to the marketing campaign of the film, to work alongside their own representative with Jonesworks employed by Stephanie Jones, due to the multiple demands and threats made by Ms. Lively during production which included her threatening to not showing up to set, threatening to not promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release, if her demands were not met. It was also discovered that Ms. Lively enlisted her own representative, Leslie Sloan with Vision PR, who also represents Mr. Reynolds, to plant negative and completely fabricated and false stories with media, even prior to any marketing had commenced for the film, which was another reason why Wayfarer Studios made the decision to hire a crisis professional to commence internal scenario planning in the case they needed to address.”

The statement concludes: “The representatives of Wayfarer Studios still did nothing proactive nor retaliated, and only responded to incoming media inquiries to ensure balanced and factual reporting and monitored social activity. What is pointedly missing from the cherry-picked correspondence is the evidence that there were no proactive measures taken with media or otherwise; just internal scenario planning and private correspondence to strategize which is standard operating procedure with public relations professionals.”

The account that posted this is suspicious AF. A PR plant, perhaps?

What manipulating pieces of shit! I had an inkling that there was more to the Blake smear campaign cos why would you harm the lead actress when your film has just been released? I myself didn’t watch the film due to all the controversy, along with it being about domestic abuse, the whole thing put me off cos it simply didn’t sit right. I get that sometimes there are media tactics to try and create controversy for sales but this had an opposite effect for me and I wonder for others too?

Also this campaign led to trying to smear Anne Hathaway, bringing up a very old interview where she didn’t want to sing. To her credit and I’m sure her bemusement, Anne gave a very gracious apology when she hadn’t needed to. res

I bet so many people put this down to jealousy and tall poppy syndrome but now in actuality it’s just another tactic in the abuse of women in Hollywood. You can’t touch their bodies so you smear their character to cover your own flaws. We see how this works now.

The article doesn’t mention that she hired a smear pr team before they even had their on set sit down. Let’s see those messages

  13. kindaretiredguy on

lol and Reddit ate this up, talking crap about her at every opportunity.

  14. PhatFatLife on

PR didn’t make her say or do anything on those interviews that initially turned ppl off, he can’t be blamed for that.
And if he did all that he’s gross.
Two things can be true at once.

“Weve confused people So much mixed messaging It’s actually really funny if you think about it“

    “We’re crushing it on Reddit.”

So from the perspective of Mr Boldoni’s PR team they didn’t say “we got the truth out there” and “Reddit users know the truth.” It was people posting here against Lively were “confused” and they were happy about that.
