      Gosh, I’ve been thinking about this for the past hour and I still can’t figure out why Koreans like her… What a mystery

      I think she’s the most well known Chinese actress in Korea. She’s not like a household name or anything, but if you ask people if they know a chinese actor/actress I think you would get Tang Wei near the top (with Jackie Chan, Chow yun fat, Bruce Lee etc.). She also married a Korean person so I think sentiments towards her are pretty positive. She won a Blue Dragon Film Award recently which is I think the first time for a foreign actor (that’s the photo on the very right), so people who know definitely know.

      She is a wife of famous korean movie director and lives in South Korea. She was shown on some korean movies and on commercial tv ad so she is famous in Korea Many koreans think she is beautiful, charming and good actrees.

      When Jisoo debuted, there were a lot of comments on how she looks similar to Tang Wei

      She was amazing in Lust, Caution and a lot of my Korean friends watched the movie and like her. I just realized while typing this out though that I met a lot of those friends while living in Shanghai so there’s probably a bias lol.

      Maybe I’m in the minority but I find her to be a bad actress. Can’t get into any movie she’s in. 

      She got famous from the movie “Lust, caution”, more for her nudity than her acting. Then she was blacklisted by the Chinese government so her career has been mostly outside of China
