    ***The Telegraph reports:***

The [alleged Chinese spy](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/12/16/chinese-spy-allegations-anonymity-house-of-commons/) who had a close business relationship with the Duke of York has been named as Yang Tengbo.

The businessman had been the subject of [a court anonymity order](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/2024/12/14/identify-the-alleged-spy/) and was referred to only as H6, but he was unmasked after the High Court rejected his attempt to keep his identity a secret.

Yang, 50 – who was banned from entering Britain on national security grounds – can now be revealed to be behind Hampton Group International, a lobbying firm that has extensive links [to China](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/china/).

Until now, the firm and the businessman had gone largely unnoticed. But its alleged web of influence, which spans Beijing, Westminster and [royal palaces](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2024/12/14/prince-andrew-invited-chinese-spy-to-buckingham-palace/), can now be fully disclosed.

What I find interesting is when it’s a Chinese or Russian spy, it’s immediately a big scandal. If it’s a US spy, it’s generally kept hush-hush and dealt through the diplomatic channels.

Most likely the US tipped them off too so UK doesn’t dare to get too close to China.
