  1. I hope they build it in the Midlands or the West so staff don’t have to deal with the Dublin housing market

Are prices going to be decent or will we be seeing posts of the same products being cheaper, with delivery, on Amazon.de?

This is basically going to make stuff cost more for us all on Amazon for Irish buyers. . Fully sure they will add the usual ‘Irish Margin’ to the products and evverything will be 20% higher than the UK equiv

  4. Amazon Germany has gone to the dogs lately. Packages are taking weeks to get delivered. The upshot of that is I found other places to buy my stuff.

  5. I’d say prices might be slightly higher but that’s just vat you won’t have to pay any extra at checkout or customs and get prime delivery.

  6. My fear is amazon.ie will lock me out of amazon prime from the uk and its free delivery. And then they can just bump the .ie prices. I would hope it sorts out accessing tv/ movies through amazon prime tv.

  7. I still just use hagglezon to compare product prices across all the Amazon websites.

I gaurantee the Irish version will never be the cheapest

Looking forward to this. Yes, prices might be a little higher but I always check hagglezon to see where an item is cheapest anyway. This will be great for items that currently can’t be shipped to Ireland and for getting smaller things in a hurry if you need them.

  9. I was always very positive about this, how can it be more expensive when it’s cheaper for the seller and there are no custom charges? If it will be too expensive compared to other sites they will quickly go out of business. There is a lot of competition out there.

Now the island and it’s commercial ties completely severed from the mainland and UK.. Amazon is lubing slowly and warming up for that sweet sweet Irish monies.

The helpless, powerless, meek Irish consumer will just bend over and say “don’t stop daddy Amazon”…

Just glad got my TV in last minute from amazon.de. Even with +€30 delivery it was still 50-100 cheaper than all local retailers and 60 quid cheaper than amazon.uk (no customs).

    This island is a trap!

  11. I just want my orders to be sent in less than 15 days with prime. I placed an order on 8th of December and expected delivery was 23rd of December. Sold by third party but sent by Amazon. I never saw this “slow” delivery dates, even from 3rd parties.

Apart from that, most probably they will bump up the prices in .ie market. So ordering from Amazon DE will be most likely a bit cheaper or same price I guess.
