I know it’s old news, but do you think it’s possible Russia could have ultimately given necessary aid to prevent regime collapse and instead offered only offered Assad safe exit and refuge in an effort to get US attention and military aid off Ukraine and on ISIS in Syria?
Surprised he didnt flee to Tehran, but I guess he was always had more of a affinity for Russia, Iran relations was a necessity for his part for survival.
