    Intelligence efforts, bolstered by open source investigations from Bellingcat and its independent Russian media partners, exposed the GRU’s Unit 29155, whose operatives had targeted Sergei Skripal, the former Soviet military officer, in an assassination attempt. As the investigation intensified and 29155’s movements and operations around Europe were uncovered, Lovnidol emerged as one of the earliest examples of their work.

    What became apparent was a pattern of carnage, destabilisation and sabotage across the continent.
