I’ve always been a supporter of help them build their country’s infrastructure, ethics, poverty, life quality, etc, instead of the non-viable solution of importing them in EU countries. The long term viable sustainable solution is help them build their own countries/cities.
Thank you from Syria!
Are the new guys better than Assad?
(I’m not implying anything, just asking, I knew nothing about them)
Does that mean they can go back now to their home country and rebuild?
Hope they are not premature cause frequently when dictator leaves either the country goes into disarray with multiple factions trying to take over or a new dictator. Syria already has many groups united against their dictator, now he’s gone old differences will resurface. Hope I’m wrong.
I hope whatever comes next in Syria is better than the Taliban regime in Afg…
We are happy too..no excuses now.. dictator is not in charge now..time for them to leave for their Dreamland.. Cyprus will be safe soon..half of Cyprus prisons will be empty..
excellent news, the sooner they leave from cyprus the better
Wonder if Russians in Cyprus will celebrate when their dictator goes off.
It’s not black and white in Syria like this is bad and this is good. So many different groups of people in Syria and maybe the people you see celebrate and the Christians and Alawites are now without protection with Assad gone. The next steps happening in that country regarding these groups are probably very negative. I fear the radical islamists will now take over.
No reason to celebrate for Cyprus people.
Totally agree dude, my Grandma told me Damascus was like one of the nicest places to travel to back when she was a teenager (she’s Greek Orthodox)
So much history in that country and the whole region, it’s really saddening to see the Middle East is always dealing with bullshit
As long as the Syrian restaurant doesn’t close down in Nicosia, I am happy.
Well, that was the easy part now they have to actually run the country.
Great! Waiting for Syria to become a liberal democracy and prosper!
There were so many people on the streets, in their cars waving their flags, just being happy. It was a very nice thing to experience. I don’t have enough knowledge to predict what is going to happen but I hope whatever it is to be the best for Syrian people.
Too early to celebrate. It’s been just promises from a group of jihadists so far.
We can and should learn from the past and similar cases : Syria is heading to catastrophe
Great – now they can go back home and leave Cyprus
People who’re cheering “welp, time for them to leave!” are both delusional about how hard it is to change countries & how safe Syria’s current state actually is.
These people’ve been away for 13 whole years. Many have since learnt their hosts’ languages, employed in longterm jobs, made local connections & perhaps even mix marriages, and many have kids in their teens having never even seen Syria.
If I was a refugee I’d be insane to cut all my new roots to return to a volatile, ruined nation, to my likely destroyed house, and also ruin my child’s education & social life along that too.
Blindly disregarding all of that & declaring them all up for deportation will backfire too; good job showing any future refugee & migrant that integration & assimilation are a lost cause you shouldn’t bother with!
