      MAGA filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza issued a statement on Sunday admitting that his most notorious project — the 2020 election conspiracy film 2,000 Mules —- was produced “on the basis of inaccurate information provided to me and my team.”

      The statement includes an apology to Mark Andrews, a Georgia man who sued D’Souza, Salem Media Group, and True The Vote (his partners on the film) for defamation in 2022.

      Released in May 2022, 2,000 Mules claimed that the 2020 election had been stolen from Donald Trump in part through the use of “mules” who were paid to stuff ballot drop-boxes with ballots favoring Joe Biden. The film’s claims hinged on supposed “data” from True The Vote, a Trump-aligned election monitoring group, tracking cell phone data around drop boxes. 2,000 Mules provided no concrete evidence related to their claims of ballot harvesting, paid mules, and stash houses for fraudulent ballots, instead relying on sensationalist accusations and conjecture to stir up conservative rage — and a profit.

      That would be Dinesh D’Souza, who was convicted of election tampering himself, to be later pardoned by unpunished convicted felon Donald Trump, for the crime, and in the last 24 hours criticized Joe Biden for pardoning Hunter Biden, stating that “No one is above the law.”

      No, the title and the article are wrong and people are misinterpreting it.
      Read the actual post by him. He said two main things:

      1. He is apologizing to the person identified as an illegal mule that sued him. He is stating he was wrong in identifying him as such
      2. he admits that the video shown was not correlated to the location data that they obtained

      He, however, still maintains that he saw significant issues that happened and that overall the claims made are likely to be true.

      Yes he’s full of crap, but he’s not saying what people think he’s saying

      I only saw the clip about how they tracked cellphone and overplayed it with a map showing the location of ballot boxes.

      Maybe with grater context that is some shocking revelation, but on it’s own it just seems like a smart thing to do. Have the boxes where people travel.
