That won’t stop Erdoğan any more than it stopped Evo Morales in Bolivia.

You always have to be suspicious of a leader when he wants to change the rules so he can have power again! Most times they are wannabe dictators that are not only because of the rules of the country!

  3. Bro needs to understand that throwing a country under the bus for personal gain, will make his gravestone more permanently yellow.

My first time voting in Venezuela was against Chavez changing the constitution to allow indefinite reelection, the NO won, he changed it anyways, the rest you know.

And yet, interestingly, the “official” accounts will show on paper that 171% of Turkey population agreed with his proposal.

Next presidential elections are due in May 2028. There’s a clause in the current law that’ll allow him to run one more time if he disbands the parliament and causes an early election (even a couple of months earlier is sufficient).

If he does that early 2028, runs and wins again, he’ll be able to remain president until 2033 without any amendment to the constitution being necessary. No need to bring our hopes up that he’s about to leave his throne “because he can’t run again”.
