Points to Note: India conducts General Elections similar to that of UK. The Country is divided into different constituencies and the one who wins that constituency becomes MP (Member of Parliament). A Party has to get 272 seats (50% majority) with/without alliance to win the elections. The Leader of the winning party becomes the Prime Minister of the Country.
Interesting thing to note is the Actual Number of Seats Won:
BJP+: 293
INC+: 234
OTH: 16
Vote Share of Each Party (in actual Elections):
BJP+: 46.54%
INC+: 44.02%
OTH: 3.58%
PS: Grey area is won by an Independent Candidate and Yellow by ZPM Party.

Electoral college also includes members of upper house,
So for Election similar to the US one you have to include Rajya Sabha members also

OP one honest question. Doesn’t an Electoral College style election need to declare the candidates for the top post before hand and have people choose among them directly instead of indirectly?
If that happens in India it would be a popularity contest and there’s no guessing who is winning that one! But I am glad we have parliamentary style elections.

I think you should have put actual paties like Samajwadi party in UP,DMK in TN, etc putting them all as INC seems to be equating them all with congress

Note, 3 is the bare minimum number of seats in the Electoral College, as the electoral college number is determined by number of senators and representatives a state has

It disproportionately benefits smaller states
