This post is inspired by u/EverestMaher’s post from yesterday ([link here](https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/1h19tr8/with_almost_every_vote_counted_every_state/)). Almost 90% of counties shifted toward the Republican Party.

    Democratic Shifts (331 counties)
    – The county that shifted Democratic by the smallest amount was Crowley County, CO which shifted -0.3% D and -0.4% R.
    – The county that shifted Democratic by the largest amount was House District 3, AK which shifted 32.5% D and -32.0% R.

    Republican Shifts (2,821 counties)
    – The county that shifted Republican by the smallest amount was Adams County, WI which shifted -1.9% R and -2.0% D.
    – The county that shifted Republican by the largest amount was House District 33, AK which shifted 46.0% R and -46.0% D.

speculation is mounting that Kammy has a major alcohol problem

  3. The shift in the Hispanic populations in Texas border counties doesn’t surprise me. Illegal immigration affects their communities more so than any other.

    Wow.

All those Covid deaths, Biden’s policies holding inflation lower than most of the rest of the industrialized world, and America still went for the convicted felon.

I feel more comfortable saying that Trump really does represent the values of the American people than I did in 2016.

It’s been weeks now. These counties shouldn’t be still counting votes.

Delusion and an inability to learn from failure or recognize faults.

Unpopular incumbent president basically. Harris was just young Biden really. She did nothing to separate herself from the policies ppl hated.

We have to get better about discussing real issues rather than playing identity politics. Right wing has major edge. Dems look like clowns right now. Lot of blame on Biden and dnc.

James carville would be our savior if anyone listened to him.

  9. This is a horrible map for dems. Their opponent was an elderly senile narcissist sales man. And the dems got smoked. Our messaging sucks. We must rethink this asap

This should act as a wake up call to the DNC. They need to change their platform in order to appeal to the people who have been repulsed by them. I am not talking about policy moderation- I am talking about attitudes. Increasingly the left has become more hostile to different beliefs while the right has become more accepting. Through rhetoric, dems have lost young men, men as a whole, and young people as a whole. Women shifted to Trump from 2020 – which should be used as pretense to sack the entire DNC leadership.

If the Dems want to win, this must change.

2024 was an electoral bloodbath for the democrats. The GOP must deliver on its promises if it wishes to not suffer a bloodbath electoral defeat in 2028.

Either way, this is good for the country. The GOP will have to fulfill its promise to remain in power and dems will have to switch to a better platform to come to power.

This map also illustrates how easily susceptible Americans can be to someone’s empty promises.

If you look at fair elections worldwide, every incumbent party during 2020-23 got punched in the dick.

Anyone who’s surprised by this needs to go outside, touch grass, and talk to ordinary people.

I voted for Harris, but the unfortunate fact of the matter is that most Americans aren’t nearly as progressive as the average Redditor. Irrespective of what you may think or feel, the prevailing sentiment among real people in the real world is that:

    – Illegal immigration is a problem that needs to be addressed. Heck, I live in D.C., and I’m fucking _sick_ of seeing Venezuelan “asylum-seekers” riding mopeds through red lights and on the sidewalk and in bicycle-only lanes. Every other country in the world puts a lid on illegal immigration—why can’t we?

    – Gender is more than a mere social construct. I don’t really care who uses which bathroom, but telling people they’re nuts for seeing a difference between a biological woman and a transgender woman is inane. People are sick of being preached to by coastal liberals who can’t define words like “man” and “woman.”

    – The DNC tolerates rhetoric that implicitly or overtly dumps on white people (especially white men). But wait. Who’s still 70% of the population? Who lives between the coasts? Oh, that’s right. White people.

    – The DNC presumes minorities will support it. Except most minorities are much more socially conservative than even religious Christians. I’ve spent most of my life abroad. I’m married to an Indian, my two best friends are from Iraq and Russia, respectively. Guess what? The gay Turkish-Russian guy thinks America is too liberal for his liking. His relatives all came here as refugees, and most of them voted for Trump.

Reddit is such a fucking echo chamber. I actually deluded myself into thinking Harris had the election in the bag.

    But nah.

Reddit’s going to Reddit. Y’all genuinely believe that Harris lost because she wasn’t progressive enough. But people don’t want Reddit-progressivism. Most Americans—even liberals—are more socially conservative than most of you, even if they’re open to liberal or progressive economic policies.

Seriously, if you lose two elections to Trump, it’s your own damn fault for being out of touch.

  14. Absolutely insane considering what Trump has done and said since last year. How far we have fallen, and we aren’t even close to the ground

Am I the only one that thinks this is super weird? In 2016 when Trump won there was massive protests/the women’s marches. Everybody talked about Russian interference. The Mueller investigation. His first impeachment for foreign collusion. January 6th after he lost in 2020 and the resulting second impeachment. Mishandling of classified documents case. 34 felonies for hush money payments. This whole election Democrats have non stop talked about how he’s going to do project 2025 and take away people rights, called him a fascist, insurrectionist, threat to democracy, rapist….

And now he wins in a landslide and everybody just says “aw shucks, he won fair and square, we’ll get em next time.” Where’s the outrage?? Are there even any protests planned? I just can’t believe how apathetic people seem after the last decade

Primarily just Atlanta suburbs with increasing black populations replacing rural white ones driving the blue shifts.

    Yeah, I don’t buy it.

Republicans spent 4 years saying the election was rigged. Now the Kremlin and Elon are in on it?

Yeah, no. Republicans cheated. You can’t change my mind. Democrats are to afraid to admit it.

Does anyone know what happened in southeastern Alaska, which appears to be the only place which is dark blue?
