    Technically, all the stan countries have “land” in their names, too. “Stan” is Persian for “land”.

    England and Scotland are not countries
    Or a least are not following the same definition of country than regular ones
    They are juridictions of a regular country (UK)

    In english names…

    The Original names are way different:

    Germany = Deutsch**land**

    Fin**land** = Suomi

    just to name 2 examples.

    “Stan” also means land, so add all the Stan countries too.

  5. Why do people think this “maps” are interesting?
    It is not. Plus it’s all wrong and biased

    Damn I wish there was data to figure out if Greenland has land in its name.

  7. So there is no data about ‘Greenland’?

    Admittedly it doesn’t fit ‘Kalaallit Nunaat’…

  8. “Sorry we’ve got no data for Greenland so we’ll have to leave that one out”

    Faroe Islands are not highlighted — maybe they are under the realm of Denmark, but then so is Greenland.
    Maybe it’s a grey area which is why it’s coloured grey. Hmm.
