      Had a conversation with a Joe Rogan fan. He didn’t know russia was head of the UN security council at the time. Told me the UN was persecuting him [putin] and that russia was not part of the UN. He insisted I watch Joe Rogan and then threatened me and others by saying we all deserved to die for not watching Rogan. I kid you not. The guy was spouting lines I had just seen putin make in press conferences. This was before they found out all the right-wing asshats were taking money from russia.

      In America, you don’t have to be the smartest person to grift. You just have to be smarter than half the population, which is about where Joe sits on the bell curve.

      I know it’s important to fight misinformation but the best thing to do with podcasters and influencers is to just ignore them. Their entire business model is to basically be the radio shock jocks of yesterday. In order to keep their audience engaged, they have to keep saying and doing more and more provocative things. It’s an endless hole that Rogan and his ilk are digging for themselves, and I think they know it.

      Yes Rogan is more than useless much of the time. But the real problem is morons who believe him and use it all as justification to screw American and European interests and burn down their own republic.

      I wish people would stop referencing him as a serious source or giving weight to his opinions (especially on global politics) — he has himself said not to listen to him as an authority and that he is just a clown. I specifically remember this during COVID when he loaded up with every ‘medicine’ he could find to treat it.
