That’s more saying don’t buy a house you can’t afford.
If buying a house will cost you the same or less as renting, buying a house is just increasing your net worth longterm. But obviously, there is things like the initial down payment, the legal costs, percent to agencies, maintenance costs etc, that you need to take into account.
Also personally I don’t expect pensions to remain a thing at this point, there just won’t be enough kids to make it viable anymore. But eh personally I don’t really get the desire to live much past 70 either way.
