Didn’t Apple release the Mini, then discontinue it due to poor sales? I have a feeling a very vocal minority actually want these, or people think they want them, but don’t back it up with their wallets at the end of the day.

This author and I have a very different definition of “small.” A pixel 9 Pro has a 6.3″ screen, bigger than the phone I recently replaced while looking for a smaller phone.

I want an actual small screen, sub 6″ diagonal, and frankly flip phones are the answer. I LOVE my Razr+ 2024. I use the 4″ external screen for most uses, and the battery life is amazing when you’re using such a small screen.

We’re still in the early stages of flip phones and they need to become more sturdy/reliable, and the best flip right now is made by a company that isn’t great at cameras or software support, but once they get there I really don’t see an argument for anything else if you like a smaller phone and can afford one.

Agreed. I couldn’t find one 3 years ago so I have a flip3. Great acquisition.

  4. If you don’t skimp on features it won’t be cheaper and have less battery life and will thus be a market failure. There is a consumer perception that smaller phones should be inexpensive. Thus why the Iphone SE still exists and the Mini fails.

I think the key here is a smaller phone that doesn’t skimp. If apple released a smaller 16 that had the same features as the 16 pro I would’ve upgraded already as I was looking at upgrading. But, they didn’t, and I’m still sitting here with money in my account and my 12 pro max that has a shattered back. I don’t want bigger anymore, and I definitely don’t want even bigger than this. I also don’t want to go small and discounted on features and stuff, though.

how about just making phones that can be upgrade, not replaced. stop this.

  7. Give me another Pixel 4 sized phone with a max size battery and you can have all my money.

The Zenfone from Asus has a much more compact line still catering to the small candy bar style phone.

We need more income and for other people to stop telling us what we need.

I don’t want features. All I want is to stop being forced to upgrade because the battery is defunct or the OS no longer receives security updates.

10 years ago smart phones had all the features I needed or ever will need.

Y’all had a chance Mini iPhone 12 and 13. Apple tried. The market denied those offerings. I enjoy my iPhone Mini.

  12. Apple: You don’t know what you need, we do. You’re going to buy what we sell you and you’re going to like it. What else are you going to do, buy an Android like a poor?

Every year this gets posted a few times

Every time we’re shown that the market doesn’t want small phones

  14. I got an 10” phone.

I had a tablet that had phone capabilities, ATT. My phone broke, so I put the sim in the tablet. Tablet was $200.
