Ich habe diese Europakarte während der Herrschaft Karls V. über das Heilige Römische Reich und Spanien gekauft. Wie genau können Sie es anhand der Karte datieren? Gibt es Anachronismen? Schätzen Sie die Hilfe!

  1. Looks as if it’s after the first ottoman siege of Vienna so after 1529 and before 1556 when Charles resigned.

Charles the Quint ruled 1519-1558. England declared themselves rulers of Ireland in 1542, so the map may be more modern but probably intended to represent the late part of his rule.

No earlier than 1826, when the publisher was founded.

A separate question, what year is being mapped, would be somewhere between 1520-1556, the period in which Charles V and Suleiman were both reigning.

After 1535 because Poland-Lithuania have regained Homel (Gomel on the map).

  5. On this map the city of Smolensk is not within the borders of Poland-Lithuania so it must be before the Truce of Deulino 1618.

  6. This one should be just after the Ottoman Annexation of Algeria (1516), when Algeria had began to be called as a “Sultanate.” After 1519, the official status of Algeria was declared as a “Pashalik” under the Ottoman rule.

Not sure about the rest of the map, but it is highly probable that this belongs to the period between 1516-1519.
