the missile can carry a nuclear warhead
doesn’t mean it carries a nuclear warhead

The absence of someone smarter than me explaining why I don’t need to panic is very unsettling.
I haven’t seen any credible source saying it wasn’t detected.
Where does it say it wasn’t detected? I believe Ukraine hit the launch site afterward. And Russia gave the US warning that they were launching it.
It’s very likely they did detect it and probably saw the trajectory pretty early on, I’d wager it’s more likely they had to just wait and see
It was definitely detected by western powers. Ukraine doesn’t have weapons to defend against this type of missile, but western powers do have some that can mitigate damage, like THAAD that can engage missiles during entry phase (not great against MIRV though) and other systems that can engage missiles midcourse (less effective against these IRBMs though)
Half the missiles launched at Ukraine since the invasion have nuclear capability. You can stick a nuke on pretty much anything. But bigger nukes need bigger rockets.
Russia gave the US 30 minutes warning before they launched them.
The US already knew and had warned Kyiv that Russia might do this.
No one missed it.
This is the equivalent of putin waving his dick about shouting about how big it is as if we can’t see how small it really is. And a bunch of clickbait or russian shill ‘media’ trying to make it look big by zooming in.
