No matter how qualified, people would rather vote for literally anyone else for president before they vote for a woman.

I’m tired of giving the American electorate too much credit and being disappointed.

I was kind of happy I was wrong about their willingness to elected a black guy with a foreign-sounding name.

These maps are shit. You have data in the foreground blocking info behind it

California has succumbed to NIMBY housing policy that results in severe shortages of housing across much of the state’s biggest population centers.

Homelessness rates have exploded especially in California as rents increase faster here than most of the country. Housing costs keep going up driving a lot of the inflation.

Is it a shocker they would swing for a con man who says their economic pain is real and then gives them a scapegoat to be angry at (immigrants)?

Californians have gotten so cynical and nihilistic that they voted to protect prison forced labor. They voted against a minimum wage hike to $18/hour, in the same year Missouri voted for $15/hour.

Dem governance in California and their embrace of things like CEQA that used far more often to block new residential construction especially denser construction yet an economy that keeps producing jobs and attracting people from the rest of the country. It’s a volatile mixture. It’s how you get work commutes that last multiple hours one way.

For every complaint a NIMBY makes, add another floor to the building floor plan. Rule with the iron fist of builders remedy and build (and keep building).

It should be noted that 2 million less people voted for Dem candidates this year in California. Biden got 11 million votes while Harris has only gotten 9 million votes.

Such a strange choice to include the interstate highways on this map.

  7. How come every county doesn’t have a data point on it? Does no data mean zero change since last time? Further, does that mean the whole downtown LA had no change?

I dislike this map but purely for info reasons, not for any political implications.
