  1. Good to know the leader is always there to support unethical behavior. Really instills confidence.

Can’t say I am surprised. Trudeau has normalized bad behavior within the Liberal party.

He’d normally throw him under the bus, which would have been the right thing to do. But Trudeau isn’t know for doing the right things.

If you actually read about the case this makes a lot of sense. The minister thought his adopted great grandma was cree-turns out she was Metis. His step siblings are card carrying Metis.

He was definitely adopted by a native family he just didn’t seem to really know much about them.

I mean to be fair how many people here really know much about their great grandparents? Probably pretty few % wise.

  5. His lips were moving but nothing was coming out…. Should I be surprised?

  6. I never would have thought supporting the guy who falsely claimed to be native, used the false identity to gain preference in government contracts, and was still involved in the business as a cabinet minister while it was bidding on Covid supply contracts, all while sharing an address with a cocaine trafficker, to be the hill to die on.

But what do I know, I’m not a politician.

  7. The longer this charade goes on a Poilievre government minister would have to murder someone before they were dismissed from cabinet.

Don’t worry. He stuck up for Han Dong for awhile too. JT will eventually dump him, if he doesn’t get dumped first.

Someone tell the trudeau that either you are indigenous or you are not!!!! You can not, unlike with genders these days, IDENTIFY as an indigenous person to gain access to discriminatory preferential treatment!

  10. Why is anyone surprised that Trudeau is supporting a corrupt minister? Ministers will follow suit if they are lead by someone corrupt.

Maybe the longer this goes on, the better? Hear me out…we need reforms. This government has shown us that our processes are woefully and wholly inadequate to deal with a corrupt government being upheld by other corrupt or desperate players.

We should be applying pressure to the CPC to enact reforms once in office.

Too much cabinet privilege…basically means they can give a middle finger to the courts. Too easy to hide corruption.

We need mechanisms that can force an election beyond a non-confidence motion. Some other metric is needed to determine if a government has lost its mandate to govern, which this charade obviously has.

We should be writing to our MP’s and PP demanding reforms become part of the CPC platform.

They should have asked him what he thinks should happen to companies/individuals who are caught incorrectly claiming to be indigenous when bidding on federal contracts. He probably would have just given a non answer but it would have been a more interesting question.

Most corrupt Prime Minister in Canadian history supports his party member’s acts of corruption.

Please just follow the money open the books if you gave nothing to hide

Anyone else would fire Randy (both of them) immediately. Trudeau offers support.

  16. Electronic-Record-86 on

He should really ask for his resignation, anyone who claims to be indigenous for his own gain deserves to be fired at the very least
