I feel like I’m taking crazy pills every time I read this shit. So instead of just taxing transactions and activities of said company or individual. We want to get every country on earth to conform to the idea that global companies should be neatly sorted into countries and that every country should have the same tax rate with full transparency and co-operation between all countries. Same accounting systems, same tax system, same tax law, same profit formulas.

That’s their plan… Just going to ignore the giant elephant in the room where its perfect illustration of a prisoners dilemma where a country not conforming gets massively rewarded.

Ireland benefits massively from low taxes, Canada benefits massively from all the money laundering. While America says fuck you to everyone and takes their share of global taxes. Countries aren’t a real thing to people with this level of wealth, profits are only half real. Most wealth is borderline make belief numbers. And yet the only thing they can come up with is to use taxation methods developed a century ago. Knocking on doors and asking for a tithe might actually be a better system.

It’s a distraction so they can push the blame down a decade or two as the plan inevitably fails and they don’t have to do anything. All to protect a system that hurts Canadian competition by having a tax that we completely refund but costs tens of billions of dollars to run each year.
