If the Sahara was green 6000 years ago, I wonder, was the Amazon a dry place at this time?

    4. I always laugh when people say “Sahara desert” it literally means desert desert

Supposedly there was a yellow Nile that flowed to the west into Chad which dried up.

How does that come in only 6000 years? Any ideas what the land looked like in different part of world?

Global Warming did this! 6,000 years ago the Egyptians built too many fires to grill their shawarma!

What I find interesting is that before this, 14000 years ago the Sahara was also a desert, and even drier than it is today. So it was a desert, then the rains came and it became green and lush with lakes everywhere, and then it became a desert again. I wonder if one day it’ll be green again (not in our lifetime at least)

    9. the Nile valley back then was a roaring waterfall stream, without any space for a human dwelling

I’m convinced there was a complex civilization that lived here and then fled to the edges and founded civilizations like ancient Egypt.

    13. Can this be remedied? Say, by making canals from the Mediterranean Sea?

Would the Atlas and Ahaggar mountains have had glaciers during this time?
