Back 20 years ago it wasnt uncommon for mid sized companies to have some IT people employed building databases and bespoke applications. Then all the SaaS companies provided applications that did more and were ‘cheaper’ (not really in the end).
It would actually make sense to me that AI would flip that around for some companies and they’ll start to in house more applications as devs become super human with what they can do.
