Yes because they knew exactly what they were voting for. You vote for the party of personal responsibility? You’re gonna get held personally responsible.

If I get pulled over by a cop, ignorance of the law is not an adequate defense for why I broke the law.

I take the same approach to voting. Ignorance of a candidate’s policies may absolve you to a point but you should still shoulder at least some of the moral blame for that shit.

I mean come on. You vote once every 4 years. It’s not that big of an ask to devote 10-15 minutes once every 4 years to have a quick read of people’s policies

They wanted it so here it comes. Yeah they’re responsible… Obviously… I didn’t vote for the guy…

  4. TryEfficient7710 on

    Absolutely.

He’s been in the public eye 24/7 since 2016.

They know exactly who and what they voted for.

  5. RickKassidy on

Of course. Their ignorance is responsible for the carnage to follow.

If you put a loaded gun in a baby’s crib, are you responsible if the baby squeezes the trigger?

  6. Pretend-Return-295 on

Absolutely, including the influencers, like Rogan, that pushed him. Have any of them expressed *any* concern over an alleged sex trafficker being AG, because I haven’t heard it?

    The quick answer: yes.

    The full (and depressing) answer:

yes, but they are generally unable to logically connect these actions of Trump to an outcome of their collective vote. So in the same way an infant isn’t strictly responsible for the outcome if they shove a fork in an electrical outlet – no.

  8. Wonderful-Variation on

Yes. I was more sympathetic in the past, but holy shit, this time around it could not have been more clearly telegraphed that this guy is a pyscho.

  9. Yep. They had plenty of time to research. So either they voted based on sound bites and optics or voted because they agreed. Either way, the voters are 100% responsible this time.

  10. When Trump voters say MAGA the ‘G’ in their minds stands for ‘Great’

When Trump and his team use the term the ‘G’ clearly stands for ‘Gutted’.

  11. 100%, they knew the warnings, what he represents, and they still voted for him.

  12. Sure_Quality5354 on

Yes. If someone tells you not to do something stupid or dangerous and you hurt yourself anyways, you have no one to blame but yourself

  13. If you vote to let a three year-old drive a car and that car crashes, yeah, you’re responsible.

And even worse, you’ve watched that three year-old crash a car before. And the three-year-old even told you that they were gonna crash the car.

    Fully responsible.

Yep, I’ve straight up said this to my mom. I get 2016 you might have been duped, but there’s no excuse for choosing him in 2020 and especially in 2024. I said to her when all goes to shit that I will absolutely blame her even though we live in a Blue state. It’s the principle, and everyday I’m finding it more and more difficult to allow her in our lives. Like, I love you mom, but this wasn’t about political differences. This was more than that and you simply chose the wrong side of history. I can’t associate with someone that literally fucked over our democracy, mine and my kids futures, and the overall well-being and prosperity for all people of this nation. All for the price of eggs and gas which suspiciously has gone down drastically in the last few weeks. I guess we paid for all those Trump PAC donations from Big Oil.

Yes, as are every eligible voter who didn’t vote. It’s not like Trump’s an unknown or was trying all that hard to appear to have changed and to be presenting sensible new policies.

  16. DorkKnight87 on

Yes. Everyone is responsible for their own actions. Those actions also include the responsibility to educate yourself and make informed decisions before voting.

  17. Igor_Kaputski on

Yes. They had all of the information available to them. They decided to choose this. They shouldn’t have to be explained to like fucking babies

  18. Koffeinberoende on

    On the one hand: Yes.
On the other hand they don’t seem to have any morals, so I don’t know how it would apply.

  19. Musicferret on

It would be one thing if Trump got in power, then abruptly changed his plans; but in this case, it was clear how insane and evil he was, and the right voted for him anyway. It won’t mean anything, but at some point, I hope those people understand just how much they hurt the country; and how they are responsible for the death and destruction Trump causes.

  20. SchwarzestenKaffee on

Yes. And I’m tired of people saying “They voted for gas prices and eggs.” That’s bullshit and a cop-out. They voted for all the horrible stuff like racism, homophobia and misogyny, they just claim gas prices and eggs because it sounds more reasonable and less horrible than the real reasons.

1000000% I have the deepest disdain and disgust for them and will hold a grudge until the end of time. What they have done is unconscionable.
