Talking out of my ass, since I’m not certified to speak on this at all.

But does that make sense? Since magnetic fields are created by the materials within the star, and not the overall size? So all those materials being squished into a smaller spot shouldn’t change their magnetic field, even though the gravitational field has been changed?

  2. Since black holes are essentially collapsed stars initially this makes sense but what does it mean for our further understanding of black holes?

So wouldn’t that imply that the matter itself is not really “destroyed” or broken down when entering a black hole?

How could the magnetic field remain if the components making that field undergo what we think happens when a black hole swallows it up? Like for example the earth has a field from the iron in our core (iirc) so if we somehow turned into a black hole wouldn’t that imply the core would stay relatively intact or unchanged enough to maintain the field?

Also talking out of my ass, but doesn’t black hole destroys all information about previous state if objects? As in black hole has no hair etc.
