      31 months…probably eligible for parole in a little over a year.

      She was jailed for 31 months, so she’ll serve about a year, assuming she’s not been on remand and that child cruelty is eligible for release after 40% of the sentence.

      This sort of thing should really be manslaughter though.

      I mean, good, she should be sent to jail (and has been there for a year already on remand), but **how** has this taken 5 years to be tried?

      That’s not just on **anyone.**

      what the heck is “sweat transfer from a cannabis user?” I Googled it and this seems to be the only time someone has ever talked about ever talked about a “sweat transfer” and cannabis. I can guess what it might be supposed to mean – like cannabis users are leaking THC out of their sweat and the baby got a little high touching a sweaty stoner – but this isn’t something that happens? Surely the more obvious answer is ‘the baby consumed cannabis somehow’?
