      What Putin wanted:
      A military parade announced as a “special military operation” with Ukrainian locals throwing flowers to the russian liberators, for a duration of 3 days.

      What Putin got:
      A clusterfuck of a war in which Russia has lost 3% of military age males, Ukraine has now access and permission to launch long range missiles into their country, NATO has added 2 countries and has already lasted for a number of days that has 3 zeroes.

      The number of Russian army attacks on all fronts has decreased again, but the activity of the Russian army on the main fronts remains very high.

      – In the Kursk direction, the situation continues similarly to previous days. The Russian army attempts large armored column attacks and suffers heavy losses. As maneuver warfare is ongoing in forested areas, the position of the contact line is not always clearly fixed. The Russian army has definitely not advanced in a way that would force Ukrainian forces to retreat from the Kursk region within a few weeks.

      – In the Kharkiv direction, positional battles are ongoing and no major changes have occurred.

      – An active offensive continues towards the cities of Kupiansk and Lysychansk, but Russian units have not succeeded in significantly improving their positions. No active offensives were conducted by the Russian army in the Siversk direction.

      – In the area around Bakhmut, Russian forces were less active. In the city of Toretsk, the offensive by Russian units has remained active, and recent pressure has allowed some advancement in the city center.

      – On the Pokrovsk front, the Russian units’ assault is very intense, but no significant advancements were achieved yesterday. An intense offensive continues southwest of Donetsk, and the Russian army has managed to advance its positions in a few points.

      – On the southern front, the activity of Russian units was low. The main battles took place in the Dnipro river islands area.
