they act like coming at it from the outside is a good thing, but they sound like two guys who can’t change the oil on a car trying to do an engine swap

And the man leading companies that have received tens of billions in subsidies and government contracts is now set to lecture America on cutting budgets.

  3. Those agencies were usually created by an act of Congress. Wouldn’t it require an act of Congress to remove them?

  4. I’m here for it. I don’t want it to happen, but we need catastrophic failure and calamity to snap the idiots out of it. It’s 1933 in America.

  5. Oh man, we could probably save a lot more money by cutting subsidies going to elons companies and like, taxing them more? Instead of kicking the down when they’re down? I guess it’s easier for others to do the suffering when you’re in charge than take responsibility.

Here is a good reading book I came across discussing what is going on in one country as they try to pull themselves out of a situation that started off near the same ways our did–with the “election” of an autocratic.

The author, Maria Ressa, also has several videos discussing the book and her responses as to what has gone on in her country.

She warns, “You can’t have integrity of elections if you don’t have integrity of facts.”

“Over the past five years, President Rodrigo Duterte’s government has turned social media into an effective tool of information warfare designed to intimidate and silence all opposition and distort and manipulate the public’s understanding of reality, warned investigative journalist Maria Ressa.”

“*When you want to rip the heart out of a democracy, you go after the facts. That’s what modern authoritarians do. This is the world we [now] live in*,” said Ressa, winner of the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, referencing a notion from Yale historian Timothy Snyder’s book “On Tyranny.”

Correct me if I’m wrong but my understanding is, they talk a LOT of shit they can’t do. They don’t have any actual legal authority over other departments. They are basically private consultants being contacted by the Trump WH to advise or make suggestions on what to cut.

Anybody else seething with rage at the thought of these two immigrants screwing over real Americans?

Wow if Elon can do for the government what he did for Twitter we’ll be broke before 2026

This will affect so many MAGA people’s lives and people they know. It is beyond belief the problems this will cause to save a few bucks for tax cuts that will go to the rich.

I am truly speechless on the devastation to come and people don’t know how bad it will be. Entire counties are literally going to be economic wastelands with destitute people – education cuts, welfare cuts, medical help cut, food banks and soup kitchens setup. Then those industries that rely on government payments will be hit such as emergency health care, but I guess SpaceX may get more funding…

Then going to cost more when a new administration comes back and brings back agencies..SMH

Those agencies will save 100millions not trillions. That’s just 0.01%. Republicans aren’t willing to reduce military spending or entitlements.

  13. So unemployment will rise, then US Fed will need to cut rates. But the import tariffs will be massively increased too, then the US Fed will need to raise rates. So the policies balance each other out and the economy and employment will burn and no way to extinguish the fire……. Great policies
