Because Trump doesn’t like dogs, and more importantly, dogs don’t like him?

Just like in Fahrenheit 451. Is it trained to attack librarians?

Elon thought it was a good idea, so now MAGA LARDO probably has armed roaming robo-dogs.

Do you think it’d recognize anyone disguised like the survivors in Oblivion?

Maybe to keep track of potential FBI agents visiting again.

It’s pretty obvious why a newly elected president would use technology as part of its security

Do they also use flying drones? Because this would not have stopped either assassination attempt. A flyer could have at least stopped the first.

This doesn’t really seem to be an improvement over camera systems.

Flyers can already make 3D-maps at a fraction of the cost.

  8. This is only the beginning, soon we will have them walking in areas where crime is high or areas where salary is high for police.

Ah! I know what this is – it’s a taste of things to come. Folks down there won’t need an obedient National Guard.

I’m curious about who has access to these security feeds

I’m curious – it looks like they may have a wide stance but it _has_ to be possible to tip one over, especially with that big payload on top. Can they self-right?

  12. I’m gonna guess our new billionaire co-president has something to do with it. I’m just surprised it doesn’t already have a flame-thrower attached to the top.

  13. Should we be surprised that there are fake dogs to protect a puppet president?

I don’t see anyone providing any real answers so I will as someone who has sold extremely similar models to refinery’s. They replace a paid roving security guard for a one time cost of about of his yearly salary, they do more, and are more reliable. They don’t need breaks, they don’t fall asleep, or forget to make their rounds. All the need to do is recharge and while it’s doing that you just deploy another.

They can tie into a unified security platform and stream back live video and LIDAR feeds. They also can keep track of the environment better so something like “solid snake hiding in a box” doesn’t fool it and it can tag such a thing to have a real human come in investigate it. Tying them into a unified system means that if a camera or security radar or lidar detects something like a person or vehicle where one shouldn’t be it can instantly use API calls to be told to deviate from a normal patrol and go investigate the anomaly. And you’re not going to disable it short of hitting it with a .50 caliber rifle round.

i think we need to start actually talking about how we’ll resist this dystopia.
