    Late last night (the 16th), a student driving a light passenger car overturned on the grounds of Saitama Sakae High School in Saitama City, and a second-year male student, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, died.

    Around 11:30 PM yesterday, a light passenger car overturned while driving on the grounds of Saitama Sakae High School in Nishi-Yuuma, Nishi Ward, Saitama City.

    According to the police, three second-year male students from the school were in the car. The student sitting in the front passenger seat (17 years old) was taken to the hospital but later died. The driver (16 years old) and another student in the back seat (17 years old) were not injured.

    The car was being driven without a license, and it did not have a license plate. It is believed that the car had been used for ground maintenance purposes.

    The police reported that the three students in the car belonged to different sports clubs and all lived in the same student dormitory.

    The police are investigating the cause of the accident and are considering the possibility of charges related to reckless driving causing death.
