  1. The fact that the biggest donor of food aid in the world voted against this makes it feel like there might very well be more to the story.

Edit I did the traditional op tankie Chevy and whoooooah Nellie!

How strange! Like the first time these two stand on opposite side of the whole world.

  3. More curious about the “didn’t vote”: which countries (apart from DRC that’s seen here) chose not to vote and why?

  4. For people who think they can “own the westoids or own the zionists”, they didn’t vote because the two countries typically only vote in favour of policies that can actually be implemented.

These votes are basically the UNs way of having a giant circle jerk and virtue signalling, despite everyone knowing that there is literally no way that every country on earth would work together to make sure not a single person was hungry at any time.

Quite often in the UK and Australia we’ll have planted questions that boil down to “does the prime minister think the prime minister is doing a good job?” Or “does the prime minister think anyone who votes against the prime ministers policy (worded to sound like a universal good) is bad?”. This is exactly the same thing, so the UN gets to say that it’s doing good in the world, and all the countries get to tell their own people that they’re a nice country.

If you look at a map like this and don’t immediately think there is probably a deeper reason behind the decisions then you’re probably contributing to the problem of idiots raging on the internet.

  5. Pointless, masturbatory vote. Would North Korea have provided its citizens with “adequate food or means for its procurement” if this resolution had passed?

The map has Taiwan colored in green but it should be gray. Taiwan is not a UN member state.

Yeah, because the responsibility of making that a reality always inevitably falls on these two countries to use their tax revenues to feed non-citizens.

  8. haven’t seen it here today. atleast the comments provide the reason

  9. OK, now show the countries that actually donate food to other counties, not just hitting the desk with their sandals

  10. Who spends the most on programs that send food aid…the United States. lol

Can we can UN resolution maps already? They hold no consequence, the title is always not representative of the body of the resolution and it’s almost always misinterpreted. (I say this even as I believe Israel is committing war crimes in Palestine)
