> The Sun reported that she was given the motorbike convoy on the way to the stadium despite initial police reservations, with her mother Andrea Swift also negotiating arrangements directly with No 10 aide Sue Gray.
I know it is The Sun and hence probably nonsense, but the idea of the office of the Prime Minister getting involved in the logistics of a pop concert is just ridiculous.
Another day, another article about politicians and Taylor Swift tickets.
Weren’t Starmer’s tickets a gift from the Premier League?
My understanding was the implication that Khan and Cooper were the ones that intervened over the police escort.
Edit: I’m not entirely correct. His tickets for the June show before the election were from the Premier League, but he also went in August as [as a gift from Universal Music](https://x.com/steven_swinford/status/1846241366843457964?s=46&t=F_t5tWsPsifmNVHaFZWJJQ).
Should’ve atleast donated the tickets to some child with cancer.
Tories in disguise, it’s the only way these pricks can get elected these days.
It’s crazy how people are fussing about this instead of the money lost due to Covid…
I know people are loving to pretend that the Tories never happened and are outraged at Starmer receiving *checks notes* clothes, football and Taylor swift tickets. Failing to declare gifts is common and happened constantly with the Tories and probably most major parties.
It’s a bit relentless and pathetic that every time he receives something the papers makes a story out of it even if it’s within the rules and been reported correctly.
Let me know when they do something like this
https://goodlawproject.org/government-gives-tory-donor-137m-in-hidden-payments/
https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/dark-money-investigations/record-profits-tory-donors-firm-won-huge-ppe-contracts/
quote about Serco who didn’t test and trace costing billions and failing
“Serco’s CEO is the brother of a former Tory MP. His partner is a Tory Party donor. And Serco’s former top spin doctor is the Tory Minister for Health.”
But let’s talk about Taylor swift and footie tickets.
It should be looked at, but in the scheme of things this is somewhat meaningless
I don’t understand why there are no questions being asked of the police for not providing this level of security in the first place.
This doesn’t seem extreme, especially given Taylor Swift has been a target of terrorists. If she were to be killed on foreign soil it would be devastating for the UK diplomatically and economically.
I just want to know how much “benefits” can I expect if I gift a Taylor Swift (or similar) ticket to someone high up in the government?
Asking for a friend.
These are damning allegations, I wonder if Keir can shake it off…
This is a perfect example of why you don’t accept gifts in a professional environment. The perception of bribery is almost as bad as actually being bribed, whe the outcome is your company is splashed across the papers regardless!
Here is example #3939 of why you don’t take gifts in positions of power, even if it is not true it ***could*** be true and that’s all the matters.
