Lots of misreporting going on here and in the States. CNN & CBS both edit Kamala’s interviews, won’t release original transcripts. CTV this. MSNBC with Joe Rogan.
No apology will be enough for PP. No amount of grovelling will be enough. No amount of firing will be enough.
None of these things will satisfy the need for PP and the CPC to appear to be the eternal victims of society’s actions against them.
These people should not be put in a place of power where they can lash out in their need to always appear to be the victim.
They are not sorry they did it. They are just sorry they got caught.
I feel that if PP were to speak more clearly and honestly about his plans should he become Prime Minister these communication challenges could be avoided.
PP is providing the “free press” with a preview of how he’ll govern. Toe the line or less advertising and protection. Bell is pragmatic and will do as they’re told.

How hard is it for the news to simply report what’s said instead of manipulating what was said? But I guess it’s always the same with the “ends justify the means” types.
If you have to splice together multiple clips you’re doing something that’s unethical. Full stop.
I watched the committee on this one, and it was entertaining but not in a good way. What is clear is that CTV is not owning this or doing the proper diligence. You an tell there apology is half assed. Even the Liberals and NDPs in the committee were laying into CTV. Watch Anthony Housefather’s line of questioning.
People on here making it sound like it is some kind of malicious vendetta by Pierre need to actually educate themselves and watch what goes on in Ottawa rather than hang off the news headlines.

CTV is owned by Bell media. They only care about ad revenue and ratings. Truth is a bonus if it happens.
Great, there is a punishment for paraphrasing via editing, Now let’s figure out how to punish people making the countless malicious misinformation stories posted to social media every second of every day. Let’s also hold foreign news broadcasters who want to air content in Canada to the same standard.
