Ergebnisse der Kommunalwahlen in Brüssel. Überwältigender sozialistischer Sieg und weniger als 7 % der Stimmen gingen an die Rechte, aber fast 10 % gingen an Team Fouad Ahidar, eine islamistische Partei

  1. Who cares? The real news is that we’ll have an alt right mayor in a town for the first time since ww2 as they managed to get a majority on their own.

It’s not an Islamist party, where exactly did you get that from

Your agenda is pretty clear, most people will only ever read the title and immediately jump to conclusions

This post is misleading, they are just a regular party mad with how immigrants are often not included in elections so they decided to create their own party. No it is not a ‘Islamist’ party you are acting like they are just extreme right terrorists or something (far from in reality, more left leaning if I am correct).

Less than 7% went to the right? WTF OP? VB is extreme right, NVA is conservative for immigration, CDNV as well (only ones you counted for some reason (ignorance) while VB and NVA are more conservative), MR/OpenVLD are liberals if not neo-liberals and took a more conservative turn recently about immigration and “wokism” on MR part and Defi is conservative light.

Also, those are the votes for Brussels City, not Brussels capital. FYI, the European Commission is not in Brussels City but Etterbeek, which is part of Brussels Capital, for example

As for Team Fouad, this is an ethnic/protest vote. They were not even present in many parts of Brussels Capital (Etterbeek, Uccle, Ixelles… where all the European buildings are and where the Eurocrats live). TFA is an offshoot of Vooruit, because it is a party focused on Arabs and Maghreb, and that focuses more on Palestinians than anything else, to the point of being called anti-Semitic. A vote against Israel basically. In Molenbeek, with an overwhelming population from Maghreb, they took “only” 15%. I know some non-Muslims that voted TFA to protest against Israel (not the smartest people I know). So am I worried about TFA? Not much, results are only due to the conflict in the Middle East, I do not think TFA will survive more than 5 years. Is there an ethnic vote in Brussels? Yes, but you do not need to focus on TFA to see that, just look at the names in PS/Ecolo and even MR parties.

Want something to worry about? Saint-Josse-Ten-Noode has re-elected a Turkish nationalist at 50+% once again. TFA got trounced there because there are much more Turks than people from Maghreb.
