So it’s a great demonstration of how AI will be used for limiting “unwanted” speech. I’m not saying game chat should be a bastion of free speech – but this is going to eventually be applied to a lot more places. Our dystopian future awaits us.
Didn’t AI also lead to the banning of thousands of Japanese players in Apex Legends because they said “Run away!” in voice chat in Japanese?
Literally says online interactions are not rated don’t let your kids on online game. What happened to freedom of speech. If it is not illegal then it’s fair to say. this doesn’t get any better.

And chat in COD is absolutely dead.
With COD, or any other competitive game, I feel like goofy/toxic voice chat is an essential part of the experience. Games that have tried to make filtering chat overbearing inevitably lose players.
I’m other saying completely unmoderated chat is okay, but some banter should be allowed.
It’s a weird goal and achievement to claim imho. I play with a lot of friends and random people who complain about being chat banned often they don’t know why. On the flip side I’ve never been chat banned and I keep prox chat on and I love to talk smack and get smack talked, it’s a big part of my fun. I mean it’s a competitive game that glorifies violence and murder.
Also cheating still runs rampant. Why can’t they do something about that? The cheating ruins the game for me. People talking doesn’t. My mute button works fine for people who annoy or offend me.
